Essen, March 9, 2021 – TK Elevator, a leading global player in the elevator and escalator market, actively supports the UN Global Compact objectives. The company has become a signatory of the United Nation’s initiative. As a stand-alone company, TK Elevator is committed to contributing to a sustainable future and the global fight against violations of human rights or labor standards, and against corruption.

As a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General, the United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of these UN goals. With more than 9,000 companies and 3,000 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries, and across 69 local networks, it is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world.

By supporting the UN Global Compact, TK Elevator joins forces with many other public as well as private actors to actively pursue and achieve these important common goals.

TK Elevator’s signatory status is an expression of its own values and corporate principles. To this end, the company has put in place a full-fledged and state-of-the-art compliance program and will not tolerate any participation in human rights and labor violations. TK Elevator expects its business partners to share the same fundamental values.

“We have made it our priority to contribute to the goals of the UN initiative as they are completely congruent with our Code of Conduct. TK Elevator managers and employees share these common goals and values. Together with our business partners, we will continuously work to integrate the UN Global Compact commitments into our business practices”, states Peter Walker, CEO of TK Elevator.
