TK Elevator launches new momentum elevators for high-rise buildings in Europe and Africa

  • TK Elevator expands its portfolio in the high-rise segment in the European and African markets, complementing the widely successful TWIN platform
  • The new single-deck high-speed elevators offer a combination of customisation and standardised high performance for this demanding segment
  • Elevators feature minimum C02 footprint and maximised uptime through cloud-based maintenance

Düsseldorf, May 26, 2021 – TK Elevator, a global urban mobility leader, is responding to the needs of the evolving high-rise segment in Europe and Africa with its new elevator family: momentum.

The two new high-speed elevator models, momentum 200 and momentum 300, are set to provide customers with a perfect combination of high performance, energy efficiency and customisation possibilities. Developed by a global team of high-rise experts, and building on TK Elevator’s German engineering expertise, this product platform was developed to meet the rapidly evolving mobility needs in high-rise buildings.

Superior ride quality, smart connectivity

Tested at TK Elevator´s technology centre, the Test Tower in Rottweil Germany, momentum elevators deliver superior ride quality with minimal horizontal and vertical vibrations of 8 mg at 7 m/s, low noise levels and high shaft efficiency. They also offer advanced sustainability standards, achieving an A class rating in energy performance according to ISO 25745-2 regulations and ensuring a minimum C02 footprint. The entire elevator experience is further enhanced with seamless connectivity and integration with smart building solutions such as Lift Access Control Systems (LACS) or Application Programming Interfaces (API) via open interfaces.

All momentum elevators are enabled for maximised uptime via the industry-first cloud-based platform, MAX. MAX constantly collects elevator data and provides technicians with actionable intelligence, enabling them to fix an issue even before a breakdown occurs.

Swift and connected - Precise and customizable

momentum 200 is designed for premium residential, office, commercial and mixed-use high-rise buildings up to 300 meters. This optimised platform covers a range of up to 2,500 kg load and can reach a maximum speed of 7.0 m/s. Its versatility makes it ideal for high passenger traffic as well as for use as service or firefighter elevators. The momentum 200's cabin design features include standard predesigned options that can enable bringing an architect's vision to life.

momentum 300 realises the high-end vision for high-rise buildings up to 600 meters. This enhanced platform offers premium precision, unique customisation and a performance that exceeds the challenges in the high-rise sector. With a travel speed of up to 12.0 m/s, this elevator is built for complex and very high traffic performance requirements. With its extensive design freedom, momentum 300 also fulfils the highest demands of customers and enables the creation of a truly one-of-a-kind design.

Inge Delobelle, CEO Business Unit Europe Africa says: “With our new momentum elevators, we expand our footprint in the European and African high-rise market. These products are perfectly tailored to the needs of customers in this very special and demanding building segment, that places increasing value on sustainability. momentum also answers to the evolution of their needs from pure office and residential structures to largely mixed-use buildings. TK Elevator has been partnering with high-rise planners and architects for decades, and as the purpose of these buildings evolve, we will continue to deliver the flexibility they need.”

The launch of momentum follows two years after the introduction of TK Elevator’s synergy and evolution product lines to the European market, which were targeted at the low-rise and mid-rise segments. With its high-performance and versatility, momentum represents the perfect single-deck complement for the broadest high-rise portfolio in the elevator industry. It ranges from single and double-deck elevators, the uniquely flexible TWIN elevator system with 2 elevator cars running independently in the same shaft, and velino escalators, to MAX, AGILE, and proven references of expertise in this segment from New York’s 1WTC to Frankfurt’s European Central Bank.
