Persistence pays off

Be it large or small projects, each day our sales staff does their best to win new contracts for thyssenkrupp Elevator. That persistence is key to success demonstrate two success stories from Egypt and Turkey. 215 new elevators will be installed in residential projects.

In sight of the Great Pyramids of Giza, stretches the 105-hectare site of the new satellite city of New Giza. Conveniently located on the outskirts of Cairo, the former quarry site is being developed to meet the growing housing needs of the megacity. The project already started ten years ago, but at that time without thyssenkrupp products. That, however, is now changing. In the latest phase of the project, the sales team in Egypt convinced the customer of the products of thyssenkrupp Elevator. A total of 186 Synergy 100 MRL will be supplied to Egypt for the project.

The combination of new installation and service led to success

"I believe that our determination to win this project impressed the customer," explains Ahmed Hashem, sales engineer at thyssenkrupp Elevator in Egypt. Not only the will of the team, but also the best price/performance ratio in comparison with other competitors contributed significantly to the success. In addition, the team's previous reference projects convinced the customer that thyssenkrupp Elevator not only has strengths in the installation of elevators, but that its maintenance expertise also offers the customer a significant benefit. The decisive argument for Ahmed Hashem, however, is a different one: "With our products, we have met all the customer's technical requirements and have tailored them individually to his needs and placed them in first place - I think that and our know-how was ultimately the main reason for the decision."

29 new synergy elevators for Turkey

However, not only the persistence of the team in Egypt is being rewarded. The team in Turkey did not give up either until the customer finally opted for thyssenkrupp Elevator's solution. This secured the team one of the largest housing projects in the Sakarya region. Important to note is, that by winning the project, the team in Turkey did not let any other global competitor move into the region with their products. So far, the team in Turkey managed to secure six projects in Sakarya with a total volume of more than 100 elevators.

It is particularly pleasing that the new synergy product family will be used. 27 synergy 100 and two synergy 200 will be installed on site within the next 12 months. The signing of the contract was only possible thanks to the intensive collaboration of the field staff, the sales manager and the finance department. Together, they were able to make an offer that won over the customer, while still making a very positive effect on the income of thyssenkrupp Elevator in Turkey. Canberk Sayın draws a positive conclusion after the signing of the contract. "With our determined customer support we succeeded in convincing the customer to work with thyssenkrupp Elevator instead of competitors. As a result, we have won the residential project and are now able to retain our dominance in the Sakarya region."
