7th TK Elevator Tower Run: Online registration opens on Wednesday (March 18th)

1,390 steps, one goal: Rottweil invites you to Europe’s highest stair climb +++ On September 20, the TK Elevator Test Tower will be the venue for athletic feats and breathtaking views

Rottweil, March 12, 2026. 1,390 steps, 232 meters of elevation gain, and a clear focus on the finish line: The seventh edition of the TK Elevator Towerrun once again transforms the Rottweil Test Tower into a vertical arena of superlatives. Around 1,200 athletes, ranging from ambitious amateur runners to international Towerrun pros, are traveling to Baden-Württemberg’s oldest city to put their endurance and willpower to the ultimate test. And the best part: All finishers will be rewarded for their efforts with a spectacular view from the Test Tower’s observation deck—with a vista stretching from the Black Forest all the way to the Alps. A special highlight is the final of the 2026 German Tower Running Cup, where the best stair runners on the scene will compete.

But Europe’s highest stair climb isn’t just for top national and international athletes and tough firefighters. On the contrary, from stair-running novices to competitive athletes, from six-year-old children to 78-year-old adults, individually, in teams, or in the firefighter categories—anyone can conquer the Test Tower in Rottweil! After all, in recent years, nearly all participants have been able to enjoy the view at the finish line after the climb.

Beate Höhnle, manager of the TK Elevator Test Tower, is eagerly looking forward to the event: “The TK Elevator Towerrun is much more than just a stair run—it’s a crowd-pleaser with a dynamic all its own. The fact that we once again get to welcome such a wide variety of national and international participants, as well as numerous fire department teams, makes the race a unique sporting highlight for us.”

“The appeal of the stair run lies in immediately pushing one’s own limits. It’s great to see how the running community is embracing this format and how more and more people want to set new athletic goals,” says project manager Christian Dillschnitter from the Cologne-based event agency pulsschlag, which is also organizing the KölnTurm Stair Run on June 21. “The unique dynamic of running upward and the feeling of reaching the top make tower running an extraordinary experience that stays with you for a long time.”

The seventh event in Rottweil will feature various formats. In addition to the competition for individual runners and teams, firefighters will once again take to the starting line. The firefighter teams will compete in protective gear, with and without breathing apparatus.

Interested participants should be seated at their computers or ready with their mobile devices at exactly 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning (March 18) to quickly secure one of the coveted race entries. During the last registration period, the race entries sold out in no time.
