Istanbul/Düsseldorf, November 9th, 2021 –The new Galataport Istanbul, one of the most important infrastructure projects in Turkey, has opened its cruise port terminal featuring among others various restaurants and shops as well as office spaces. TK Elevator has contributed to the completion of this new port facility on the European shore of the Bosporus strait with the installation of 89 state-of-the-art elevators and 37 escalators.

For the new cruise port terminal, TK Elevator developed mobility solutions to facilitate the customer’s security measures by using the latest technologies: In order to meet the special requirements of the location directly at the waterfront, machine room-less and hydraulic elevators with flexible and customized dimensions are provided, including reduced shaft head and reduced pit conditions. The high-performance elevators also feature energy-saving technologies with efficient motor-drives. Among others, the elevator cabins are equipped for the inclusion of camera systems and access points for uninterrupted internet service.

Artuğ Özeren, CEO TK Elevator Turkey, says, “We are proud to contribute to this project by delivering cutting-edge technologies that ensure optimum mobility and customer experience. Our elevators and escalators are integral for the smooth and safe transfer of Galataport Istanbul’s expected 25 million visitors annually.”

Galataport Istanbul General Manager Tolga Engin says: “TK Elevator is one of the most reliable companies in the industry. Thanks to this important cooperation, we have been able to set up a system that offers our guests the best and safest mobility – especially designed in accordance with the architecture and construction conditions of Galataport Istanbul.”

TK Elevator has also implemented a monitoring system that operates in sync with the building’s automation system to check the availability of all units at a glance. Thereby, qualified personnel, who are available 365-days-a-year as part of TK Elevator’s comprehensive on-site service concept, can easily monitor the operating or standby modus of all mobility units within Galataport Istanbul on fail-safe display screens, and instantly respond to any unexpected downtimes.
