Düsseldorf (Germany), August 20, 2026 – TK Elevator (TKE), a global leader in vertical transportation and urban mobility, today announced the opening of the Global Product Development Center (PDC) in Guaíba, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The facility expands TKE's ability to develop technologies that improve vertical mobility, passenger experience, and operational efficiency. This over €5 million (R$ 30 million) investment enhances the TKE global R&D network, facilitating collaboration across the globe to accelerate vertical transportation innovation and bring new solutions to market. The engineering and software development teams are dedicated to advancing the next generation of elevators, digital products, and connected services for customers worldwide. The center will support the continued evolution of TKE's portfolio, including innovations such as:

  • EOX, TKE's natively digital elevator platform, represents the company’s transition toward software-enabled mobility. Designed with connectivity at its core, EOX natively digital and AI-ready and can evolve through remote software updates, agentic AI-enabled maintenance capabilities, and future digital applications. Combining advanced energy efficiency with regenerative drives, EOX is designed to hit the sweet spot of vertical mobility: smarter, more sustainable and long-term value throughout the lifecycle of a building.
  • AGILE Mirror, with advanced development roots in Brazil, this interactive mirror serves as a multimedia platform to enhance the passenger experience and enables additional value through services designed for safety.
  • AGILE Mobile, a digital solution for building managers and passengers that allows e.g. passengers to call an elevator directly from their smartphone.

"Innovation is a key driver of TKE's growth and competitiveness," said Paulo Manfroi, CEO of TK Elevator Latin America. "This investment strengthens our global product development capabilities and enables even closer collaboration between engineering, digital, and software teams as we create smarter, more connected mobility solutions for customers around the world."

The center operates as part of the company’s global research and development network, connecting Brazilian teams with professionals in the United States, Germany, Spain, South Korea, and China. This international collaboration accelerates the development of new technologies and enhances the company’s ability to meet the needs of diverse markets.
