TK Elevator moves into new headquarters

  • New location at Düsseldorf Airport offers state-of-the-art facilities in urban surrounding.
  • Building equipped with MAX IoT solution.
  • Sustainability is a top priority.

Düsseldorf, 19.04.2021 - From Ruhr to Rhine: as of this week, the first employees of TK Elevator are moving into the new headquarters in the immediate vicinity of Düsseldorf Airport. The location is characterized by international connectivity, thus the headquarters of the global company is located in an environment with a well-developed infrastructure. Around 400 employees of the head office, as well as two operational entities, move into bright, spacious and flexible premises on more than 9,000 square meters of office space, which are designed and furnished according to the most modern aspects. The innovative design is inspired by sustainability and urbanity. The workspaces are complemented by a spacious 500-square-meter outdoor area in the courtyard.

"With the new location, TK Elevator is taking a further important step in its independence and setting standards in terms of flexibility and modern ways of working. Our investment in the site underlines our origins and our intention to further expand the company's leading position." comments Peter Walker, CEO of TK Elevator.

The office spaces follow an activity-based concept and include different room modules that offer various opportunity for concentrated quiet work and teamwork in smaller and larger groups, as well as for informal meetings. Within defined home zones a shared desk principle applies, with each employee having free choice of place. The high level of standardization, both in terms of furniture and modern technical equipment, is the basis for this open concept.

In addition to the canteen and cafeteria, employees also find spacious open kitchen areas on all levels that invite them to linger and engage in informal exchanges with colleagues. All those who are particularly sporty on their way to work will find showers and changing rooms in the new headquarters. In addition, charging stations for e-bikes and e-cars are provided in the future, as well as a pilot project for bike sharing.

Great importance is also paid to sustainability and energy saving in the building. For example, the building's lighting control system is precisely adapted to the prevailing daylight and programmed accordingly for various scenarios. Motion detectors and dimming of the lights in the evening ensure energy savings. Much of the selected furniture is sustainably produced and contains recycled materials. Additional comfort is provided by the elaborate acoustic elements, as well as ergonomic equipment and furnishings.

Of course, the building is equipped with the latest digital elevator systems. Several barrier-free units of the evolution 300 model not only include custom cabin furnishings, and a multimedia screen in the control panel, but also the AGILE terminal for touchless-experience in the elevator itself and the cloud-based MAX system. In addition, INSIGHT monitoring offers the possibility of real-time monitoring and remote control.

"The friendly atmosphere, the numerous options and the state-of-the-art technical equipment offer our employees a supportive and motivating environment in every respect. This forward-looking concept, which puts people at the center and leaves behind old-fashioned rigid office spaces, is in line with TK Elevator's way into a new era. The various room modules, from think tanks to meeting rooms and telephone boxes to project rooms, offer something for every work situation. Communication and exchange are very important here," explains Dr. Detlef Hunsdiek, Chief Human Resources Officer at TK Elevator.

Due to the current situation, in which a large proportion of employees work on a mobile basis, it is expected that the relocation activities will extend into May. Of course, TK Elevator offers all moving-in employees the opportunity to take a COVID test on a daily basis on site.
