TK Elevator at the Luxembourg Sustainability Forum 2025
TK Elevator at the Luxembourg Sustainability Forum 2025 organized by IMS - Inspiring More Sustainability. A great pleasure to meet Serge Wilmes, Minister of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity together with Nancy Thomas, director of IMS, and Maurice Bauer, first alderman of the city of Luxembourg.
I had the great opportunity to show that sustainability at TKE is not a stand-alone item. It runs through everything we do:
- Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) to help our customers obtain better performance in green building rating systems such as BREEAM, DGNB and USGBC – LEED.
- Our new energy-efficient and digitally native EOX elevator range with cloud-based maintenance, a real gamechanger in terms of sustainability.
- Our TKE Safety Transformation Program WeGetHome.
- Our sharp focus on Supply Chain Management.
- Here the latest Sustainability Report and also more information available on our website.

1,5 billion people use our elevators and escalators every day. The number of elevators and escalators is projected to grow due to:
- Urbanization: 7 out of 10 people are expected to be living in cities by 2050
- Accessibility requirements for people of all ages and abilities to move seamlessly in their environment
Sustainability in elevators is also about improving performances in existing buildings. More than 85% of the buildings in the EU are projected to remain standing in 2050. Retrofitting an existing structure can result in 50-75% less carbon compared to building a new one from the ground up. There is a huge potential of bringing them up to state-of-the art technologies with modernization solutions enhancing traffic flow, improving safety and energy efficiency.
It is a great privilege for our teams at TKE to work hard every day to make mobility in buildings smarter and more sustainable.
