ThyssenKrupp Aufzüge opens new research center in Stuttgart and service call center in Berlin
On October 1, 2003, ThyssenKrupp Aufzüge GmbH, Neuhausen/Stuttgart, opened a new research and development center in Stuttgart. The decision to set up the Elevator segment’s third research center in Stuttgart reaffirms ThyssenKrupp’s faith in Germany as a business location. Joining the existing centers in San Diego/USA and Nice/France, the Stuttgart facility will focus exclusively on independent R&D programs. Dr. Clemens Kolbe, Management Board Chairman of ThyssenKrupp Aufzüge GmbH, commented: “A top-class team of seven employees with experience gathered at the ThyssenKrupp elevator plants in Neuhausen und Graz will work at the center concentrating on the major future challenges in elevator production.”
The new research center is ideally located amid several renowned companies and close to Stuttgart University. “Here we can concentrate on our core task as a creative institution of providing new impetus to enhance quality and technologies. We also act as a dynamic forum for sharing knowledge and experience with the other two research institutes,” says center manager Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Thumm. The center will play a key role in strengthening and sustaining ThyssenKrupp Elevator’s position on the market.
New service call center opens on October 1, 2003
ThyssenKrupp Aufzüge GmbH, Neuhausen/Stuttgart, has chosen Berlin as the location for its new centralized service call center. 14 new jobs have been created, and a total of 25 staff now deal quickly and competently with calls from all over Germany. In addition to calls from customers, they also process elevator malfunctions reported automatically by the teleservice remote monitoring system. Availability is guaranteed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via the service number 01805-365724. Throughout Germany, ThyssenKrupp Aufzüge is under contract to service some 60,000 elevator systems, of which around 21,000 are equipped with the teleservice system.
Concentrating service activities at one location primarily benefits customers, whose requirements can now be dealt with even more quickly. Pooling competencies in this way further enhances maintenance and service quality and significantly improves customer satisfaction.
