Düsseldorf (Germany), October 6, 2025 – TK Elevator (TKE), a global leader in vertical transportation and urban mobility, will take part as a platinum member at the 2025 CTBUH international conference “From the Ground Up: Tall Buildings and City-Making” in Toronto. As an active participant in CTBUH’s global and regional initiatives, TKE will showcase its commitment to people-centric, future-ready urban environments by leading workshops and presenting its pioneering TWIN technology. Organized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the conference is the world’s largest event on vertical urbanism and city development, bringing together over 1,500 participants from more than 50 countries and more than 200 speakers.
Key conference presentations by TKE thought leaders will explore how mobility solutions can connect people and places from the ground up, across, and beyond, redefining accessibility and the lived experience in high-density urban environments. The concept is to create a connected mobility ecosystem across all levels – from underground train stations, to ground level public areas through to buildings and high-rise – for a seamless passenger experience. TKE’s research publication, “The Space Beyond: Connecting people and places beyond the Elevator shaft towards urban accessibility”, will be featured in the conference proceedings, underlining the company’s vision for integrated and inclusive urban accessibility, ensuring accessibility for all.

Workshop | Monday, October 6, 2025 | 2:00–5:30 PM: "Expanding the dimension of urban mobility" explores how innovative design and technology can improve user experiences and mobility patterns in both existing and repurposed buildings. Markus Schlichter, Head of Global High Rise at TKE, presents “TWIN – Flexibility by design, adaptability by software” highlighting the innovative TWIN elevator system, which features two independent cabins in one shaft for maximum flexibility and adaptability to evolving customer needs.
Core Session | Wednesday, October 8, 2025 | 1:45–3:15 PM: Javier Sesma, SVP Global Business Development at TKE, presents “Connecting people and places from the ground up, across and beyond” focusing on strategies to connect tall buildings and public spaces physically and socially, and on advancing urban accessibility and inclusiveness.
