TK Elevator secures major contract for Kuwait International Airport’s Development
- TK Elevator to provide, install and maintain 55 Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs) for Kuwait International Airport's Package No. 3.

Düsseldorf (Germany), May 26, 2025 – TK Elevator (TKE), a global leader in vertical transportation and urban mobility, has been awarded a significant contract for Kuwait International Airport (KWI) Package No. 3, covering the Aircraft’s Apron and Taxiways and Service Buildings. The project includes the supply, delivery, installation, and a two-year maintenance contract of 55 Passenger Boarding Bridges. This agreement reinforces TKE's position as a premier infrastructure partner in the Middle East, leveraging its long-standing relationship with KWI.
The new Terminal 2, under construction by Limak Insaat and overseen by the Kuwait Ministry of Public Works, features an iconic design by Foster + Partners, and is set to become a major hub in the Gulf region. Covering approximately 750,000 m² with a roof area of 315,000 m² 1, it will significantly increase Kuwait International Airport’s capacity to handle 25 million passengers annually2. TKE’s solutions will enable seamless passenger flow and play a vital role in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring a seamless passenger experience, contributing to Kuwait’s growing position as a key regional air hub.
TKE's 55 custom-designed PBBs, featuring a unique steel and glass design and tailored width specifications, will seamlessly accommodate all aircraft types – from Code C (e.g. A320 or B737)3 to code F (e.g. A380 or B 747-8)3. This efficient configuration includes 4 triple Multiple Aircraft Ramp System (MARS)4 units (Code F)3, 17 double MARS units (Code E)3, and 9 single stands (Code C)3. TKE’s comprehensive two-year maintenance agreement ensures long-term operational reliability and supports Kuwait Airport’s commitment to operational excellence and passenger satisfaction.
