  • TK Elevator is one of the first elevator companies worldwide to be certified in accordance with the IEC 62443-4-1 standard
  • The certification guarantees product development processes that meet the highest cybersecurity requirements

Düsseldorf, September 7, 2022 – Product safety and security is a top priority for TK Elevator, one of the market and innovation leaders in the elevator industry. In view of the increasing interconnectedness of products, cybersecurity plays a crucial role even in the early stages of the development process. TÜV NORD, one of the leading technical service providers, has now certified the company in accordance with the IEC 62443-4-1 standard, and thereby confirmed that TK Elevator's products meet the highest international standards for cybersecurity.

To ensure maximum product security, TK Elevator´s product development process has been extended to include security risk assessment and respective measures, as well as penetration tests. “The certification confirms that safety and security is our priority at all times. Customers can be assured that every new TK Elevator product meets internationally recognized cybersecurity standards,” says Markus Jetter, Global Chief Engineer High Rise & Functional Safety & Cybersecurity at TK Elevator.

"Cybersecurity management is not only about the security of information or risks that can be evaluated economically, but also specifically about the safety of people. That is why we are delighted that TK Elevator has now completed this important certification," says Matthias Springer, Head of Industrial Security at TÜV NORD.

The IEC 62443 standard has been established as an internationally recognized certification for security in the process and automation industry environment. It focuses on the cybersecurity of "Industrial Automation and Control Systems" (IACS) and covers systems, components and organizational processes that are required for the safe and reliable operation of an automation solution.
