71 ThyssenKrupp Elevator installations for new shopping mall in Moscow

ThyssenKrupp Elevator 000, a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG, has won a contract to supply and install 33 machine room-less elevators, 26 escalators and 12 moving walks for the new “River Mall” shopping and entertainment center. Located on the banks of the Moskva, the 250,000 square meter complex will offer space for 220 shops, a supermarket, multiplex cinema, entertainment amenities for children and adults, cafés and parking decks for more than 3,000 vehicles. The building will also house five restaurants with a panorama view of the surrounding area and the river.

Thanks to glass and stainless steel paneling, the elevator cabs will offer a refined ambience when moving between floors. The ThyssenKrupp Elevator escalators and moving walks installed at various points in the building will make passenger transportation particularly flexible, speeding visitors safely to all floors without waiting times. With their glass balustrades the installations will blend in perfectly with the architecture of the new shopping and entertainment complex, which is due to open in 2010.

Currently, the two towers of the Moscow Federation Tower are being fitted among other equipment with 22 TWIN systems. With a speed of up to 7 m/s they are the world’s fastest exemplars of this ThyssenKrupp Elevator-exclusive elevator system and a particular highlight in the Russian capital.
