First TWIN elevators for Australia

ThyssenKrupp Elevator Australia, a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG, is to provide a total of 34 elevators and escalators for the planned Raine Square office complex in Perth, Australia. Amongst others, the building will include six innovative TWIN systems, exclusively offered by ThyssenKrupp Elevator. These are the first TWINs in Australia.

The installations for Raine Square are one of the largest single orders for ThyssenKrupp Elevator Australia. With the TWIN more people can reach their destinations more quickly. At the same time, this unique elevator system, which runs two cabs independently from each other and with different speeds in the same shaft, saves valuable floor space. In Raine Square the lower cabs will travel at 2.5 meters per second, the upper cabs at 4 meters per second. This further increases the capacity of the system and reduces waiting times. The customer opted for ThyssenKrupp Elevator because of the numerous advantages TWIN has in comparison with conventional elevators.

Raine Square will comprise an office tower with a shopping center below. The planners of the 28-story building, which will cover almost an entire street block, attach great importance to efficient and sustainable solutions. On the outside, the heritage-protected facades will be retained and integrated into the overall design, while on the inside the TWIN systems, among others, will ensure smooth transportation of visitors. The innovative and energy-efficient products from ThyssenKrupp Elevator will contribute to achieving an objective the planners have set themselves for this project: Raine Square will set new standards as an environmentally friendly building.

TWIN is already operating successfully in various countries, including a total of six TWIN systems in four buildings in Seoul (South Korea), and 32 TWINs in two buildings in Moscow (Russia). In Spain and Germany too, visitors can also use the exclusive system from ThyssenKrupp Elevator: in the Aqua Multispacio complex in Valencia, in the BMW Group headquarters building in Munich, at the University of Stuttgart, in the “Dreischeibenhaus” building in Düsseldorf as well as in the “Main Triangel” building in Frankfurt. The latter application features the world’s first panoramic TWIN elevators. The first six TWINs in the Netherlands will be installed in the new head office of Rabobank in Utrecht. In the new Royal London Hospital (UK), the use of TWINs designed as bed elevators will ensure fast and sensitive patient transportation in the future. Further projects are planned worldwide.
