Setting a new benchmark for availability, TWIN can transport up to 40% more passengers and handle inter-floor traffic more efficiently compared to a conventional lift system.

Reduce energy consumption and CO2 footprint

TWIN adapts to low passenger volumes by parking one cabin when it is not needed, reducing energy consumption in comparison to a double deck lift system, which continues to move dead mass even when passenger volumes are low. In addition, TWIN features built-in regenerative drive technology that captures braking energy and feeds it back into the building's power grid. The building’s embedded CO2 footprint is also reduced due to the lower space requirement for TWIN.

Engineered for safe two-car operation

Throughout its 20-year history, TWIN has applied a four-layer safety architecture to maintain a safe distance at all times between the two cabins sharing a shaft. The system is fully certified by the German TÜV inspectorate, has an EU-Design Examination Certificate and is certified Cyber Security Compliant by LiftInstituut.

It unlocks greater freedom of design for architects, enables data-driven decision making for passengers, owners and facility managers, and delivers enhanced performance for lift users with smooth journeys and increased availability. TWIN’s adaptive technologies, intelligent systems, and energy efficient solutions all work together for unprecedented precision, transparency, and lifecycle performance.

TWIN is powered by people-centred AI and data-driven decision making. It delivers improved uptime along with truly dynamic traffic performance and service management, helping to keep buildings connected and people moving smoothly at every stage of the lift lifecycle. The new AGILE Dispatcher algorithm recognises traffic patterns, is predictive, and dynamically adjusts parameters to the detail, going beyond what conventional lift systems offer.

Dynamic and efficient traffic management continuously refines dispatching decisions to reduce average waiting and travel times. At off-peak times, it will use a minimum of lift cars and can adapt technical parameters, for example to lower acceleration speeds, to reduce energy consumption and wear and tear. TWIN also supports open API integration with building platforms (BMS, access control, security) and is part of the same digital ecosystem as our AGILE and MAX products.
