EOX Manufacturing Facility in Byhalia emphasizes a culture of empowering its operators to deliver on quality
TK Elevator launched EOX in 2022 to strengthen its leadership position in the low- to mid-rise elevator market. As the product has expanded its presence, the EOX manufacturing facility in Byhalia has also enhanced operations across safety, productivity and automation.
Let’s begin with safety, a core TKE value. From day one, the Byhalia facility has always followed industry protocols around PPE and hazard prevention, but it has elevated those efforts with frequent risk assessments and a culture in which any operator can stop production the moment something feels unsafe. This shift has created a more confident, engaged workforce focused on producing high-quality elevators without compromising well-being.
Operator empowerment has also driven notable gains in productivity. By encouraging operators to voice concerns, suggest improvements and collaborate in real time, the facility has achieved faster problem-solving, reduced physical strain and increased production.
Production line improvements have also reshaped material flow and quality through a supermarket system in which operators receive kitted carts with exactly the parts required for each job. This enhances quality and reduces rework — all of which improves project timelines. EOX also leverages advanced robotics technology, to build the EOX platform and improve ergonomics on production line.
Finally, leaders work directly alongside operators, enabling real-time problem-solving, faster feedback loops, greater transparency and more effective training. This “one team” approach has unified employees across the facility, fostered stronger collaboration and strengthened execution at every stage.
“All of these enhancements have not only created a culture of pride and unity within the facility, they are also delivering clear, measurable value to customers,” said Carlos Leirado, executive vice president, supply chain, EOX. “Our customers can have full confidence that we’ve implemented a modern, scalable manufacturing operation.”
