Inside the IQC Part 4: Overview

Known for its incredible skyline and fast-growing population, Atlanta is home to some of the most distinctive and notable buildings in North America. As a global leader in urban mobility, we knew that our new headquarters should reflect extraordinary architecture in a city that truly represents our motto to move beyond. Our complex featuring three unique buildings at the Battery Atlanta includes a 420-foot elevator test tower which overlooks the city.

The elevator test tower, named the Innovation and Qualification Center, was designed with innovation in mind — not only in the products that we test, but in each floor that was built. From the breathtaking bird’s-eye views on the top floor to the captivating digital showroom in the lobby, the IQC is packed with activities from the very first moment that guests arrive.

Our Elevator Company in Atlanta

While our North American headquarters is in Atlanta, TK Elevator’s presence vastly surpasses the city limits. The company consists of offices and test towers across the globe as we are backed by an international force. Our employees, customers and technicians have traveled far and wide to explore the IQC and all that it has to offer.

We firmly believe in telling our story through interactive and unique tools you wouldn’t typically see, so our digital showroom is a highlight stop on the tour of the test tower. Towering touchscreens greet guests with the opportunity to view different functions and features that make our products unique. One of our featured products, TWIN, is the world’s first elevator system with two cabs working independently in one shaft. The showroom makes it easy to take a deeper dive into how our elevator systems work and what makes them undeniably the safest form of transportation.

We are proud that our elevator company in Atlanta has a wide range of products, but another of our goals has always been to ensure that we are doing our part toward building a sustainable future. That’s why we are thrilled to say that the Innovation and Qualifications Center has achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. This system is the most widely used green building rating system in the world, and the IQC had to meet various requirements to be considered — including having a 12% reduction in embodied carbon compared to typical construction. This is only one of the many steps TK Elevator has taken to address carbon reduction, as our products also reflect sustainability and safety as top priorities.

Innovation in Atlanta

Since safety is paramount to us, we are proud to provide a top-of-the-line research and development lab. It is here that innovation in Atlanta can be seen on full display while engineers and technicians alike work to evolve traditional service and repair methods. Each of our technicians is backed by TK Elevator’s International Technical Services (ITS), a global network of elevator experts and engineers who have set up shop in the IQC as well.

Our seasoned technicians and trainers teach classes in the SEED campus that is set up inside the IQC. Classrooms line the halls of the third floor and come equipped with all the tools needed to successfully teach classes varying from beginner to expert. Students have the opportunity to learn about all things vertical transportation and innovation as they’re informed of the importance of safety at every turn.

After years of planning and construction, TK Elevator is proud to have our new safety-focused headquarters established in Atlanta.
